The easiest way to download to a Qlarity terminal without using Qlarity Foundry is to use the Qlarity Downloader. This utility can be downloaded here: This includes a GUI version that includes a dialog similar to the Qlarity Foundry download dialog, as well as a version that can be launched from the command line for those who want to be able to batch or script the download process.

If you would prefer to write your own download utility, it is very easy to do so. If you are using a serial port, you merely have to stream a compiled .BFF file out the serial port to a terminal that is awaiting application download.

If you are using ethernet, then the terminal will accept either a BFF compiled application or a firmware file (BIN) using the standarized Internet protocol TFTP. TFTP is described in RFC 783, as well as subsequent RFCs.

To use any of the methods described here you need to place your terminal in Download Mode, just like you would when downloading from Qlarity Foundry. You can do this using Power on Setup or by calling SoftReset(RESET_LOADAPP) in your program.
