I have posted a few quick binaries and (vs2008) workspaces that illustrate the use of various graphical features available in the .NET Compact Framework such as:
-Transparency
-Alpha Blending
-Gradients

These were used on WinCE 6, with .netcf 3.5 (they may not work in other environments).
