I have a G75 terminal with firmware 2.5. I would like to update the firmware to 2.6 (this is what I developed my application in). There are two firmware versions 2.6 available. They are G75_mips_2.600.bin and G75_xscale_2.600.bin. Which is the correct one to use? Or how can I determine which is the correct one to use?

Most likely you will want the XScale version. The MIPS firmware was for the very earliest G75 hardware we developed, which we have not sold for six to seven years now.

If you are not sure, when you have prepared your G75 for download it should display (or send out the serial port) a message like "Firmware version 2.500 (xscale)" or "Firmware version 2.500 (mips)". You can use the architecture hint in parentheses to decide which firmware to use.

Finally, don't worry too much if you get it wrong. The terminals verify which file you are sending before they attempt to save or use it.

Thanks! Found it when I went into download mode like you said. Awesome response time!
